Responsibilities
- Assist lead teachers in implementing curriculum development plans that promote early childhood development, literacy education, and social skills.
- Support classroom management by maintaining a positive environment that encourages good behavior and respectful interactions among children.
- Engage children in age-appropriate activities such as lesson planning, physical education, arts and crafts, and storytime to stimulate cognitive and motor skills.
- Provide attentive toddler care by monitoring their safety, supporting their daily routines, and encouraging independence.
- Help with classroom organization and management to ensure a clean, safe, and welcoming space for all children.
- Collaborate with teachers to assess each child's progress through observations and standardized testing when applicable.
- Communicate effectively with children, parents, and team members to share updates on developmental milestones and classroom activities.
- Support children with special education needs or those requiring early intervention services by implementing tailored strategies.
- Assist in preparing educational materials and maintaining classroom supplies to ensure smooth daily operations.
- Uphold child welfare standards by ensuring safety protocols are followed at all times during daycare or preschool activities.
Skills
- Strong understanding of childhood development principles across various age groups including toddlers and preschoolers.
- Experience working with children in daycare, preschool settings, or private schools with classroom experience in early childhood education.
- Knowledge of curriculum development techniques that incorporate literacy education, math concepts, Montessori methods, and physical education.
- Familiarity with behavior management strategies to foster positive behavior and emotional regulation.
- Ability to plan engaging lessons that align with educational standards and support individualized learning needs.
- Experience working with students requiring special education or early intervention services is highly desirable.
- Excellent communication skills to effectively collaborate with colleagues and engage families positively.
