Registered Dental Hygienist – Full-Time & Part-Time
Job Summary
Rockhouse Dentistry in Rexburg, Idaho is looking for a friendly, motivated, and patient-focused Registered Dental Hygienist to join our team. We are currently seeking both full-time and part-time hygienists.

Duties
- Provide comprehensive preventive and periodontal dental hygiene care, including periodontal assessments, dental cleanings, scaling and root planing, polishing, dental sealants, Arestin® treatment, administration of local anesthesia, administration of nitrous oxide and application of fluoride treatments as appropriate
- Take diagnostic dental radiographs, including bitewings and panoramic images, using proper technique and radiation safety protocols
- Perform periodontal charting and assess patients' oral health and periodontal condition
- Educate patients of all ages on effective brushing, flossing, home care, nutrition, and prevention
- Build positive, trusting relationships with patients and help them feel comfortable and confident in their dental care
- Communicate patient findings and treatment needs clearly with the dentist and dental team
- Identify and document areas of concern and make appropriate recommendations for additional dental care
- Provide a thorough and gentle patient experience while maintaining an efficient schedule
- Identify destructive bite patterns and help patients understand how their bite may affect their oral health, while educating them on the potential benefits of orthodontic treatment when appropriate
- Maintain accurate and complete clinical documentation and patient records
- Follow OSHA, HIPAA, and office infection-control protocols
- Properly sterilize and maintain instruments and operatory areas
- Work collaboratively with doctors, hygienists, assistants, and front-office staff to provide excellent patient care
- Participate in continuing education and stay current with dental hygiene practices, technology, and standards of care
Qualifications
- Current Registered Dental Hygienist (RDH) license in the state of Idaho
- Qualified and licensed to administer local anesthesia in Idaho, including successful completion of the required Board-approved written and clinical local anesthesia examinations
- Current BLS/CPR certification
- Strong clinical skills and attention to detail
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Compassionate, patient-centered approach to care
- Ability to educate patients of all ages in a positive and encouraging way
- Dependable, organized, and able to work efficiently while maintaining quality patient care
- Comfortable working independently while also being a strong team player
- Willingness to learn, grow, and contribute to a positive office culture
- Previous general dentistry experience preferred, but we are open to the right candidate
- Professional references from previous employers
