What are the responsibilities and job description for the Communications Coordinator position at Rockharbor Church?
Primary purpose of position: Provide administrative, project coordination, and digital publishing support to the Communications team by managing intake and timelines, coordinating with ministries, and executing routine digital updates. This role increases internal capacity and strengthens Rockharbor’s external outreach by ensuring communications are clear, timely, accurate, and consistent across web, app, and email.
Key Responsibilities
- Project Management (50%): Manage communications intake process (requests/forms) and assist with gathering missing details; Support the creation of marketing briefs and campaign rollouts (timelines, deliverables, next steps); Coordinate with ministry leaders to confirm event details, deadlines, and communication needs; Create and maintain projects and tasks in Asana (deadlines, assignments, follow-ups); Track project progress and ensure timely follow-through across multiple initiatives; Assist with weekly communication rhythms (weekend slides support, announcements, ministry promotions); Order designed assets, such as banners, handouts, and signage; Support with Sunday service flows (as needed)
- Digital Platform Management / Publishing (50%): Post and schedule content across digital platforms (web/app/email) o Prepare, format, and schedule weekly email newsletters o Update routine website and app pages (events, next steps, ministry pages) o Organize and maintain a digital asset library (file naming, folders, tagging) o Adapt copy for marketing campaigns across multiple platforms o Ensure content is accurate and consistent across platforms; flag outdated info and coordinate updates o Support with editing/organizing photos from volunteer photographers and staff o Assist with editing simple short-form videos (cutdowns or recap clips) from provided footage
Qualifications:

- Strong administrative skills
- Highly organized, proactive, and able to manage multiple projects at once
- Strong attention to detail and follow-through with deadlines
- Cooperative, servant attitude, and collaborative
- Ability to design, implement, and sustain efficient organizational systems and processes to enhance operational effectiveness
- Comfortable communicating with ministry leaders and coordinating logistics
- Ability to execute tasks with direction while working collaboratively with a team
- Familiarity with various digital platforms, including Asana, Squarespace, Subsplash, or Mailchimp (or similar web/app/email platforms)
- Willing to support policies and leadership of Rockharbor
- Bonus, but not required: Basic competency in content creation tools (e.g., Canva and/or Adobe Creative Cloud), photo editing (Lightroom or equivalent), or video editing (Premiere Pro)
