ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS include the following. Other duties may be assigned

Operational Excellence

• Completes daily checklists as directed.
• Performs simple maintenance duties to the buildings, grounds, and equipment according to required specifications for safety and appearance.
• Performs routine cleaning of building, floors, windows, restrooms, carpets, trash removal, grounds, sidewalks, trash pick-up, and snow removal.
• Performs miscellaneous maintenance activities such as painting, set up and tear down for events, erecting and disassembling tents, hauling bleachers, cans etc.
• Responsible for the opening and closing of the building on a daily basis.
• Provides quality customer service to all patrons, guests, and other District employees.
• Utilize the Rockford Park District's HRIS system for all HR and payroll-related requirements and to accurately clock in and out for all shifts.
  
  

Safety/Inspection

• Performs frequent routine safety checks on buildings, grounds, and equipment; files safety reports as required.
• Maintain a working knowledge of all general and departmental - specific safety rules.
• Ensures that all work performed is conducted in a safe and timely manner adhering to standards of cleanliness and effective equipment utilization.
• Inspect work areas (use checklists) for compliance with safe work practices and rules.
  
  

Requirements

Education/Experience

High School Diploma or GED. Experience with janitorial equipment/maintenance preferred. Some level of leadership experience preferred.

• Must be at least 18 years of age
• Experience with janitorial equipment/maintenance preferred.
• Some level of leadership experience preferred.
• Good communication skills including expressive, written and receptive.
• Ability to problem solve in a variety of situations.
• Must be a team player.
• Ability to work with the public in a courteous manner.
• Ability to follow direction from Facility Supervisor.
• CPR, AED, and First Aid Training (can be obtained through the Rockford Park District)
