Responsibilities
- Safely operate various delivery vehicles, including box trucks and personal vehicles, adhering strictly to traffic regulations and DOT (Department of Transportation) standards
- Load, secure, and unload furniture using manual handling techniques and material handling equipment such as pallet jacks and dollies
- Conduct thorough inspections of delivery vehicles before and after routes to ensure safety and compliance with maintenance schedules
- Plan efficient delivery routes using mobile devices or route planning tools to maximize productivity and timeliness
- Interact professionally with customers during deliveries, providing excellent customer service by addressing questions or concerns with a friendly attitude
- Follow safe lifting practices during manual handling of heavy or bulky furniture items to prevent injuries
- Maintain accurate documentation of deliveries, including signatures, delivery logs, and incident reports when necessary
Skills
- Valid Florida driver’s license ( Salary bonus for CDL honders) with experience operating box trucks or commercial trucks; personal vehicle delivery experience is a plus
- Knowledge of adhering to traffic regulations, DOT regulations, and safe driving practices in various environments
- Ability to operate large vehicles confidently and safely
- Familiarity with warehouse operations, material handling equipment such as pallet jacks, and safe lifting techniques
- Strong customer service skills with the ability to communicate clearly and professionally during interactions with clients
- Experience in route driving, load & unload procedures, and working with mobile devices for navigation or record keeping
