This position is responsible for teaching AP Calculus, AP Statistics, Honors Geometry, Honors Trigonometry and Pre-Calculus.

Qualifications:

  • Minimum of a BS/BA required or in pursuit of a degree. 
  • Applicable ACSI Certification or is able to obtain certification.
  • In agreement with the Rockford Christian School (RC) Statement of Faith.
  • Active member/regular attendee of Bible believing church and committed to growth in his/her relationship with Jesus Christ.

  • Implements classroom rhythms and routines consistent with behavior expectations outlined in the Rockford Christian Student Handbook.
  • Possesses knowledge about cognitive, social, and emotional development of learners including how students learn at any given developmental level, how students progress in a certain subject area, awareness of individual needs and abilities, how to tailor instruction to meet each learner’s needs, and how to assess learning appropriate for the age and content area.
  • Demonstrates expertise in a given content or subject area as well as knowledge of the standards, learning targets, and appropriate materials for the student age and content area.
  • Follows school approved curriculum maps and pacing guides for subjects or content areas assigned.
  • Integrates a biblical worldview in daily instruction that examines God’s creation, man’s brokenness, the redemption of Christ, and God’s future restoration.
  • Protects instructional time for all students and adheres to blackout dates determined by the Principal indicating periods of time when students may not be removed from/pulled out of class.
  • Solicits feedback from students to self-reflect on their own teaching, sets goals for improvement, and grows in the craft of teaching.
  • Serves as a collaborative, productive team member who attends school events, department meetings, and other committees that enhance the student and faculty experience at Rockford Christian School.
  • Remains in attendance and available to students, parents, and administrators from 7:30 am - 3:30 pm during instructional days, and assigned hours during teacher inservice days.
  • Fulfills assigned duties as determined by the Principal such as but not limited to: car line duty, lunch duty, detention duty, hallway duty, etc.
  • Maintains communication with parents through weekly lesson plans posted to the student information system, weekly classroom newsletters, phone calls or emails.
  • Responsible for grading and reporting assessment within a reasonable timeline as determined by the Principal.
  • All other duties as assigned by the Head of Lower School / Head of Upper School.

Salary : $31,000 - $45,000
