What are the responsibilities and job description for the Payroll Clerk position at Rockford Area Industry?
General Summary: Holds primary responsibility to ensure accuracy of time data, expense posting and related profitability reports. Perform analysis of revenue and confirm proper billing procedures followed. Also provides administrative support by working closely with the Controller Bookkeeper to ensure general office operations are efficient, effective and support the needs of the company. Job includes, but not limited to the following:
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Responsible for reviewing all invoicing. Periodic review of jobs previously invoiced for additional charges. Preparation of various revenue and expense accounts. Assist in preparation of monthly financial statements and government reporting.
- Review and ensure accuracy of all Employee Hours from time cards; including Vacation and Personal time. Ensure all time is allocated to job, verifying job is entered in QuickBooks and job # is correct. Print Weekly Timesheets.
- Review and ensure accuracy of all Accounts Payable invoices. This includes matching supporting documents to invoices. Ensure that all costs have been allocated to correct job in QuickBooks.
- Review weekly charges on Corporate Credit Card account and match to PO or authorization. Post charges to jobs in Quickbooks.
- Assist in maintaining revenue records and expense reported. Updating records in crm with actual revenues
- Monthly filings and reporting of all state and local sales taxes. Assist, as needed, other staff in Administrative Department or other Departments with various tasks and duties.
Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

5. Ability to Manage Multiple Tasks and Deadlines.
6. Proficient with MS Word, MS Excel, and MS Outlook, QuickBooks
Education and Experience:
1. Associates or Bachelor’s Degree, Emphasis in Accounting
2. Previous Experience with AP, AR and Payroll
3. Supervisory Experience a plus
Pay: $20.00 - $25.00 per hour
