Environmental, Health, and Safety (EHS) Manager

Position Summary

The EHS Manager provides leadership, guidance, and oversight for all environmental, health, and safety programs across both our California and Nevada facilities. This role ensures compliance with OSHA, Cal/OSHA, Nevada OSHA, EPA, and local environmental agencies, while promoting a proactive safety culture rooted in accountability and continuous improvement. The ideal candidate will be equally comfortable on the factory floor and in executive discussions, leveraging strong technical knowledge and interpersonal skills to drive consistent EHS standards across both sites. Frequent travel between locations via company aircraft will be a normal part of this role.

The company operates a wide range of both manual and automated manufacturing equipment. Knowledge and experience related to safety practices for such machinery—including mechanical guarding, interlocks, robotic work cells, and automated material handling systems—are highly desired.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop, implement, and maintain a unified EHS management system that aligns both California and Nevada operations.
• Ensure full compliance with federal, state, and local regulations including OSHA, Cal/OSHA, and Nevada OSHA standards.
• Conduct regular site visits, inspections, and audits at both locations to identify hazards and verify corrective actions.
• Lead incident investigations and root cause analyses, driving timely and sustainable corrective actions.
• Manage environmental compliance programs, including hazardous waste management, air quality permits, stormwater, and chemical handling.
• Coordinate and maintain EHS training programs for all employees, contractors, and supervisors, ensuring understanding of local and company policies.
• Oversee emergency preparedness, evacuation planning, and business continuity coordination across both sites.
• Partner with engineering, operations, and maintenance to integrate safety into equipment design, production processes, and facility layout.
• Monitor and report on EHS performance metrics; identify trends and recommend improvement strategies.
• Serve as primary liaison with Cal/OSHA, Nevada OSHA, EPA, and local fire and environmental agencies.
• Collaborate with HR and management to build and sustain a strong safety-first culture.
• Support sustainability initiatives and energy efficiency efforts as part of corporate environmental goals.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Science, Occupational Safety, Industrial Hygiene, Engineering, or a related field.
• 7 years of progressive EHS experience in a manufacturing environment; electronics manufacturing preferred.
• Proven multi-site leadership experience with hands-on implementation of EHS programs.
• Deep working knowledge of Cal/OSHA, Nevada OSHA, and EPA regulations, including injury/illness prevention, hazardous waste, and air quality compliance.
• Excellent communication, presentation, and leadership skills.
• Strong analytical ability to interpret safety data and identify actionable trends.
• Certifications preferred: CSP, CIH, CHMM, or equivalent.
• Must be comfortable with frequent inter-site travel (primarily by corporate aircraft).

Compensation Range

Base Salary: $120,000 – $160,000 annually (depending on experience)
