Position Summary
Rocket Pharmaceuticals is offering a paid 10-week summer internship for university students interested in gaining hands-on experience in a fast-paced biotechnology environment. This internship provides an opportunity to work alongside experienced professionals dedicated to advancing curative gene therapies for patients with devastating diseases.
The internship role will require a motivated individual who is comfortable in a lab setting. This opportunity to work with Rocket will provide a hands-on experience working in the gene therapy industry as well as an introduction to the science of process development. In the 10-week program, the role will explore experimental design, execution, and analysis to culminate in a full understanding of the project and results.
Responsibilities
• Develop and complete a process development project designed for the internship• Execute laboratory studies to evaluate novel technologies to improve existing processes and establish manufacturing platforms• Support the design of experiments, data analysis and result interpretation • Collaborate effectively with process development and analytical development teams • Generate high quality results and maintain high quality documentations (paper and/or e-notebooks)• Participate in group discussions, attend department and laboratory related meetings
Qualifications
• BS or MS students (chemical engineering, biochemical engineering, bioengineering, biochemistry, biological sciences, or relevant field of study)
• 0-2 years of related experience• Currently a junior or senior in an undergraduate or graduate program with a concentration in the Sciences• Good organizational and time management skills, with strong attention to detail• Strong communication and interpersonal skills• Read, write and speak English fluently• Availability to work full-time
