We are seeking a Corporate Controller to lead accounting operations across Rocket Farms, Growers Transplanting, and MPH—bringing structure, visibility, and hands-on leadership to a complex, multi-entity environment. This is a unique opportunity to assess, stabilize, and build scalable processes that support the next phase of our growth.
Position Summary
The Corporate Controller will lead accounting operations across multiple entities, ensuring accurate financial reporting, strong internal controls, and compliance with GAAP. This role is responsible for overseeing the full accounting function while supporting executive leadership with timely, reliable financial insights.
This position will also play a key role in evaluating and strengthening existing accounting processes, systems, and intercompany structures. The ideal candidate is a hands-on leader who can quickly assess current workflows, stabilize the close process, and implement scalable solutions.
Success in this role requires strong technical expertise, sound judgment, and the ability to operate effectively in a fast-paced, evolving environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee and ensure accurate, timely month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close processes for Rocket Farms, Growers Transplanting, and MPH
- Lead the stabilization and execution of the monthly close process across multiple entities, ensuring consistency and reliability in financial reporting
- Assess current accounting systems, processes, and workflows; identify gaps and implement improvements to enhance efficiency, accuracy, and scalability
- Develop, document, and implement standardized operating procedures (SOPs) across key accounting functions
- Oversee intercompany accounting, including billing methodologies, reconciliations, and eliminations
- Coordinate and consolidate financial statements across entities
- Prepare and deliver monthly financial reporting packages to executive leadership, including variance analysis and insights
- Ensure accurate and timely reporting for external stakeholders, including lenders and auditors
- Lead the annual audit process and serve as the primary point of contact for audit and tax requests
- Coordinate preparation and delivery of required documentation (PBCs) for external auditors and tax advisors
- Support tax planning initiatives and coordinate with external tax advisors to ensure timely and accurate filings and compliance
- Oversee fixed asset management, including capitalization policies, depreciation schedules, and property tax filings across entities
- Support the development and execution of budgets and forecasts
- Drive improvements in product costing methodologies and reporting to support operational visibility and enhance margin management
- Manage and mentor the accounting team across entities, providing leadership, guidance, and development
- Partner with the CFO and leadership team on strategic initiatives, process improvements, and system enhancements
- Evaluate and optimize ERP and accounting systems to support operational needs and future growth
- Manage compliance with federal, state, and local reporting requirements
- Perform additional duties and special projects as needed
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field (CPA preferred)
- 8 years of progressive accounting experience, including leadership roles
- Strong knowledge of GAAP and financial reporting requirements
- Proven experience managing multi-entity accounting environments
- Experience with ERP systems; Microsoft Dynamics NAV experience strongly preferred
- Demonstrated ability to assess and improve accounting processes and systems
- Strong understanding of intercompany accounting and consolidations
- Experience leading audits and working with external auditors
- Ability to operate both strategically and tactically in a hands-on environment
- Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a fast-paced setting
- Experience in agriculture, manufacturing, or related industries preferred
- Bilingual (English/Spanish) a plus
