What are the responsibilities and job description for the Internal Lead Editor position at RockED?
RockED is the premier people-development platform in the automotive industry, combining expert-built content with predictive technology to drive measurable performance. Video plays a central role in this mission. It’s how we translate real-world expertise into engaging, repeatable, and scalable learning that empowers every learner to grow faster and perform better.
We are scaling fast and producing several hundred short-form training videos each month, and we’re building a small internal post-production hub to increase speed, consistency, and take clear ownership. This role is the operational and creative lead for the post queue: you’ll own intake → assignment → notes alignment → revision management → QC → delivery across both internal and contractor lanes. You will also actively edit when not triaging or managing the queue.
This role is critical to removing bottlenecks and creating a predictable, scalable post-production system. We need a system-builder with taste, not just a strong editor.
Post-Production Operations & Intake
- Serve as the single owner of the post queue—all edit requests flow through you.
- Set up, prioritize, and track edit tasks in Monday.com, aligned to SLAs and priority tiers.
- Ensure each project has complete direction/notes before assignment to prevent rework.
Assignment & Two-Lane Workflow Management
- Assign work across internal and external editors.
- Maintain steady throughput, resolve blockers quickly, and monitor queue health weekly.
Editing Creative Quality Control
- Edit priority projects directly (Adobe Premiere preferred).
- Perform creative QC passes for consistency before delivery.
- Partner with content writer/producers to clarify intent and standards prior to edit start.
Media Pipeline Compliance (LucidLink Backblaze)
- Verify ingest is correct and folder structure/naming conventions are followed.
- Ensure editors work directly from LucidLink Active Projects.
- Own the archive/restore workflow:
- After approval, archive the full project to Backblaze(still building this system).
- Restore projects for changes, then re-archive updated versions.
Delivery & Vimeo Uploads
- Own Vimeo upload responsibility
- Confirm exports, thumbnails, captions, and deliverables are complete before upload.
Process Improvement
- Tighten workflows, reduce revisions, and help onboard future internal editors.
- Track KPIs tied to speed, revisions, and cost per finished video.
AI Edge:
We’re also pushing AI deeper into post. What will really set you apart is experience or strong curiosity around AI editing tools and workflows — and ideas for how we can optimize our pipeline with AI. We already use tools like Heygen, Elevenlabs, Sora and other AI-assisted tools, and we want someone who’s excited to help us level this up. Bonus if you can share an example workflow, tool stack, or ideas you’ve tested.
- Run daily/weekly post queue review.
- Create and assign Monday.com tasks for every batch/project.
- Align on notes/direction with content owners.
- Edit, review, and QC deliverables.
- Ensure exports and project files are maintained and archived correctly
- Archive completed projects and keep LucidLink under capacity limits.
- Coordinate restores when revisions are requested.
- 5 years video editing experience in a fast-paced environment (can have less if you’re the right fit)
- Strong command of Adobe Premiere Pro (Resolve or FCP a plus).
- Proven ability to manage multiple projects and editors simultaneously.
- Comfortable acting as both player coach: editing and leading a system.
- High attention to detail, naming conventions, and file hygiene.
- Confident communicator—can translate creative notes into clear execution.
- Experience working with remote editing teams preferred.
- Adobe (active editing)
- Frame.io (review review for team & client notes)
- LucidLink (active editing storage)
- Backblaze B2 (archive/restore vault)
- Monday.com (tasking status)
- Vimeo (delivery)
- Slack, Google Drive as needed
