TITLE: Grounds/Security Attendant
JOB GOAL: To guard school and surroundings against fire, theft, vandalism, and illegal entry. To ensure the proper flow of traffic in and out of the school grounds.
REPORTS TO: Principal

The job is performed outside of the buildings the majority of the day, in all types of weather conditions.

Qualifications/Requirements
- High school diploma, or equivalent, preferred
- Related experience or training preferred
- Ability to work well with students and staff.
- Physical demands - must be able to stand and walk the majority of the day; lift and carry twenty (20) to thirty (30) pounds on occasion,

Job Duties
- Is present at work everyday and arrives at the assigned time.
- Demonstrates an attitude and demeanor that contribute to an atmosphere of harmony and goodwill in the work place.
- Patrols parking lot of school site. Constant visibility is required.
- Regulates vehicle and pedestrian traffic at school to maintain orderly flow.
- Warns violators of rule infractions, such as loitering, smoking, or carrying forbidden articles and notifies appropriate building personnel if observing persons engagin in suspicious or criminal acts.
- Watches for, and reports, irregularities such as fire hazards, leaking water pipes, and security doors left unlocked.
- Observes departing personnel and students to guard against theft of school property.
- Regulates vehicle and pedestrian traffic at school to maintain orderly flow.
- Complies with all requirements for mandatory reporting of child abuse, illegal harassment, or any criminal activity for which the employee becomes aware.
- Performs other duties as assigned by supervisor.
