Billing Specialist

The Rockbridge Area Health Center is currently recruiting a full-time Billing Specialist to join the Finance Team.

The Billing Specialist maximizes reimbursements for patient services by performing complex clerical and accounting functions for patient billing. They review claims, follow-up on submitted claims, resubmit claims after correcting inaccuracies, and research proper billing techniques.

Education, Credentials, and Experience

• High School Diploma or GED.
• 1 year experience in billing procedures in a medical facility.
• Front and back-office healthcare experience, preferably in Dental.
  
  

Knowledge, Skills, And Abilities

• Certification in billing or coding preferred.
• Demonstrated strong attention to detail and critical thinking skills.
• Knowledge of billing guidelines and policies of Medicare, Medicaid, and other third-party billing to ensure comprehensive payment.
• Ability to effectively communicate with internal/external customers while maintaining a professional approach.
• Excellent customer service skills.
• Proficiency with MS Office and billing/healthcare systems.
