Position Overview
As the SOR Prevention Coordinator, you will:
- Serve as a member of the Rockbridge Area Community Services Prevention Team, responsible for the implementation of the State Opioid Response (SOR) prevention grant.
- Work with several key community members and partner organizations to carry out opioid prevention events, activities, and other initiatives outlined in the grant action plan.
- Be responsible for mobilizing key member groups to carry out initiatives, build capacity of the Rockbridge Area Prevention Coalition with a focus on Prescription and Over-the-Counter Medication prevention, act as liaison between RACS Prevention Services and organizations to implement prescription and over-the-counter medication prevention initiatives, coordinate related projects, and work to increase community awareness around opioids, prescription and over-the-counter medications (as well as stimulants as outlined in the logic model).
- Work closely with the Prevention Services Program Manager on strategic planning and sustainability planning for the SOR Prevention grant.
- Remain informed of new and available resources and initiatives relating to opioid prevention.
Qualifications
- High School Diploma required
- Associate or bachelor's degree in human services field from an accredited college or university preferred
