Job Overview
We are seeking a dynamic and highly organized Project Superintendent to lead and oversee construction projects from inception to completion. This role is pivotal in ensuring that projects are executed safely, on schedule, within budget, and in accordance with all quality standards and regulations. The ideal candidate will possess strong leadership skills, extensive construction management experience, and a comprehensive understanding of technical drawings, scheduling software, and safety protocols. As a Project Superintendent, you will coordinate teams, manage subcontractors, and serve as the primary point of contact for project stakeholders to deliver successful project outcomes with precision and enthusiasm.
Responsibilities
- Lead daily on-site operations, supervising construction crews and subcontractors to ensure work is performed efficiently, safely, and according to project specifications.
- Develop, maintain, and update detailed construction schedules using Primavera P6 or similar project management software to track progress and coordinate activities effectively.
- Review blueprints, technical drawings, and specifications to interpret project requirements accurately and communicate expectations clearly to teams.
- Manage project budgets by monitoring costs, overseeing procurement processes using Construction management software like ProCore or Prolog, and implementing cost-saving measures when appropriate.
- Enforce OSHA standards and federal construction safety regulations to maintain a safe work environment; conduct regular safety meetings and inspections.
- Coordinate with project managers on contract administration, change orders, and compliance with contractual obligations including reviewing contracts thoroughly.
- Oversee quality control procedures by inspecting work for adherence to plans, specifications, and safety standards; utilize tools such as Ohmmeters for electrical testing when necessary.
- Facilitate effective communication among management teams, clients, subcontractors, suppliers, and field personnel to ensure seamless project execution.
- Conduct regular site inspections to monitor progress, address issues proactively, and ensure construction schedule coordination aligns with project timelines.
- Supervise the review of construction drawings and technical documents; interpret complex technical information accurately for team implementation.
Experience
- Proven experience managing heavy civil or commercial construction projects as a Superintendent or in a similar role with a strong track record of delivering projects on time and within budget.
- Extensive knowledge of construction management software including ProCore, Bluebeam, Primavera P6, Primavera P3 (Primavera), Prolog or equivalent tools for project tracking and documentation.
- Demonstrated ability to manage multiple teams on large-scale projects while maintaining high safety standards in compliance with OSHA regulations.
- Strong background in interpreting technical drawings, blueprints, and specifications for various types of construction projects including pipelines or infrastructure work.
- Experience supervising crews in the field with excellent management skills focused on crew management, safety protocols, quality assurance, and project scheduling coordination.
- Familiarity with federal construction safety regulations as well as local building codes and industry best practices for commercial construction projects.
- Skilled in managing contracts, change orders, budgeting processes including construction estimating tools like HeavyBid or similar software.
- Ability to read electrical testing devices such as ohmmeters accurately; proficient in using construction safety management practices to uphold OSHA standards at all times.
