What are the responsibilities and job description for the Director of Surgical Services position at Rock Regional Hospital, LLC?
Provide leadership and oversight of all perioperative and procedural operations, including the Operating Room, Pre-Op, PACU, Same Day Surgery, Sterile Processing, and Infusion Clinic.

Ensure efficient workflow, continuity of care, and adherence to clinical best practices across all assigned areas.

Develop and implement strategic plans, policies, and quality initiatives aligned with the hospital’s mission and goals.

Foster a culture of safety, accountability, and collaboration among surgical, infusion, and perioperative teams.

Manage departmental budgets, supply utilization, and capital equipment planning to maintain fiscal responsibility.

Ensure compliance with all regulatory and accreditation standards (Joint Commission, CMS, OSHA, etc.).

Partner with physicians and clinical teams to improve patient satisfaction, outcomes, and throughput.

Lead recruitment, training, and professional development for perioperative and infusion clinic staff.

Utilize data and performance metrics to identify trends, improve efficiency, and enhance service quality.

Serve as a liaison between nursing leadership, surgical staff, infusion clinic personnel, and hospital administration.

Participate in hospital committees and contribute to organizational decision-making.

Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing (preferred)

Current RN license (in good standing) in the State of Kansas.

Minimum of 5 years of perioperative nursing experience, with at least 3 years in a leadership role (Manager or Director level - preferred).

Strong knowledge of perioperative and infusion clinical practices, standards, and regulatory requirements.

Demonstrated ability to lead multidisciplinary teams and manage complex operations.

Proven experience in budgeting, staffing, and process improvement initiatives.

Excellent interpersonal, communication, and problem-solving skills.

CNOR or NEA-BC certification (preferred)

Experience in a rural or community hospital setting.
