Director of Surgical Services

• Provide leadership and oversight of all perioperative and procedural operations, including the Operating Room, Pre-Op, PACU, Same Day Surgery, Sterile Processing, and Infusion Clinic.

• Ensure efficient workflow, continuity of care, and adherence to clinical best practices across all assigned areas.

• Develop and implement strategic plans, policies, and quality initiatives aligned with the hospital’s mission and goals.

• Foster a culture of safety, accountability, and collaboration among surgical, infusion, and perioperative teams.

• Manage departmental budgets, supply utilization, and capital equipment planning to maintain fiscal responsibility.

• Ensure compliance with all regulatory and accreditation standards (Joint Commission, CMS, OSHA, etc.).

• Partner with physicians and clinical teams to improve patient satisfaction, outcomes, and throughput.

• Lead recruitment, training, and professional development for perioperative and infusion clinic staff.

• Utilize data and performance metrics to identify trends, improve efficiency, and enhance service quality.

• Serve as a liaison between nursing leadership, surgical staff, infusion clinic personnel, and hospital administration.

• Participate in hospital committees and contribute to organizational decision-making.

• Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing (preferred)

• Current RN license (in good standing) in the State of Kansas.

• Minimum of 5 years of perioperative nursing experience, with at least 3 years in a leadership role (Manager or Director level - preferred).

• Strong knowledge of perioperative and infusion clinical practices, standards, and regulatory requirements.

• Demonstrated ability to lead multidisciplinary teams and manage complex operations.

• Proven experience in budgeting, staffing, and process improvement initiatives.

• Excellent interpersonal, communication, and problem-solving skills.

• CNOR or NEA-BC certification (preferred)

• Experience in a rural or community hospital setting.

• Background in service line growth and physician relations (preferred)
