Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

Provide leadership and direction for daily operations of the Critical Care/ICU department.

Develop, implement, and evaluate departmental goals, objectives, and policies consistent with hospital mission and standards of care.

Ensure compliance with all regulatory, licensing, and accreditation requirements (CMS, Joint Commission, KDHE, etc.).

Monitor and analyze patient care outcomes, staffing patterns, and performance metrics to ensure high-quality care and operational efficiency.

Collaborate with physicians and interdisciplinary teams to promote effective communication and coordination of care.

Manage departmental budgets, staffing schedules, and resource allocation.

Recruit, mentor, and develop nursing staff, fostering a culture of professional growth and retention.

Lead quality improvement initiatives and evidence-based practice implementation to improve patient safety and outcomes.

Serve as a clinical resource and role model for critical care nursing standards.

Participate in hospital committees and contribute to organization-wide leadership initiatives.
Qualifications & Requirements:
Education:

Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) required.

Master’s degree in Nursing, Healthcare Administration, or related field preferred.
Licensure/Certification:

Current, active Registered Nurse (RN) license in the State of Kansas (or compact state).

Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) required.

Critical Care Registered Nurse (CCRN) certification preferred.
Experience:

Minimum of 5 years of nursing experience, with at least 3 years in critical care preferred.

Minimum of 2 years in a leadership or management role, preferably in a hospital or healthcare setting.

Experience working in a rural or community hospital strongly preferred.
