Duties

• Prepare and cook a variety of meals according to menu specifications, ensuring consistency and quality in every dish
• Follow food safety protocols and maintain cleanliness standards in all areas of the kitchen, including equipment and workstations
• Operate kitchen equipment such as ovens, mixers, slicers, and other appliances safely and efficiently
• Assist with menu planning by suggesting new recipes or modifications based on ingredient availability and customer preferences
• Handle food with care, adhering to proper food handling procedures to prevent contamination or spoilage
• Collaborate with kitchen staff to coordinate meal preparation and ensure timely service during busy periods
• Maintain accurate records of food inventory, storage conditions, and cleaning schedules
• Support catering events by preparing large quantities of food while maintaining high standards of presentation and taste
• Communicate effectively with team members to ensure smooth kitchen operations and excellent service delivery

Qualifications

• Proven experience in food preparation, cooking, or related roles within restaurants or food industry settings
• Strong knowledge of safety standards in production, food handling, and sanitation practices
• Skilled in using kitchen tools such as knives with slicing techniques that ensure precision and safety
• Experience with menu planning, recipe adherence, and meal preparation techniques
• Familiarity with operating various kitchen equipment safely and efficiently
• Excellent communication skills for effective collaboration with kitchen staff and service teams
• Dietary department or dietary aide experience is a plus, demonstrating familiarity with specialized meal requirements
• Ability to maintain cleanliness through proper cleaning routines and adherence to hygiene standards
• Knowledge of food safety management systems and food industry regulations is highly desirable
