Overview
We are seeking a skilled Diesel Mechanic to join our team. The ideal candidate will possess a strong mechanical background with experience in diagnosing and repairing diesel engines and heavy equipment. This role requires a commitment to safety, quality workmanship, and excellent customer service. The Diesel Mechanic will work on a variety of vehicles and equipment, ensuring they are maintained to the highest standards.
Duties
- Perform diagnostics and repairs on diesel engines, including Caterpillar and other brands.
- Conduct maintenance on various heavy equipment such as excavators, cranes, and farm machinery.
- Utilize hand tools, power tools, and welding equipment for repairs and fabrication tasks.
- Troubleshoot issues related to transmissions, air brakes, hydraulics, suspension systems, HVAC systems, shocks & struts, and brake systems.
- Interpret schematics for electrical systems and perform necessary repairs.
- Operate forklifts and other heavy machinery safely during repair processes.
- Maintain accurate records of work performed and parts used.
- Provide exceptional customer service by communicating effectively with clients regarding their vehicle maintenance needs.
Qualifications
- Proven experience as a Diesel Mechanic or in a similar role within automotive or heavy equipment repair.
- Strong mechanical knowledge with hands-on experience in automotive diagnostics and repair.
- Familiarity with vehicle maintenance practices including tire service and assembly.
- Experience with electrical systems is preferred; soldering skills are a plus.
- Ability to lift heavy objects as required for repairs (heavy lifting).
- Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Strong communication skills to provide effective customer service.
