Role: Provides professional nursing care within an assigned unit, coordinating care planning with interdisciplinary teams.
Responsibilities: Delivers individualized, age-specific bedside care based on the nursing process and patient needs. Acts as a supervisor by assessing, planning, delegating, and utilizing independent judgment to direct healthcare staff. Evaluates the quality and effectiveness of nursing practice, participates in hourly rounding, and observes safety protocols. May assume shift leadership duties. Assesses patients' physical, psychosocial, spiritual, educational, cultural, safety, and discharge needs on admission and ongoing. Determines nursing diagnoses, sets realistic outcome goals, and guides patients and families toward achieving them. Implements medical and nursing orders, ensuring appropriateness to the patient's condition.
Qualifications & Skills: Requires a nursing degree from an accredited school, valid RN license in the state, CPR, and applicable certifications such as ACLS, PALS, or NRP. Effective interpersonal and teamwork skills, ability to work in a fast-paced environment, and basic computer proficiency are essential.
Preferred: BSN, one year of acute care experience, and certifications in specialty areas.
Additional Requirements: May be asked to be in charge for a shift, and specific certifications may be required based on the department.
