Role Overview: The Radiologic Technologist performs basic to intermediate radiographic procedures, including diagnostic and fluoroscopic imaging, ensuring patient safety and image quality.
Key Responsibilities: Communicates with patients to explain procedures, obtains clinical history, and addresses questions. Positions patients, selects exposure factors, and applies radiation safety protocols. Identifies and labels images accurately, reviews requisitions, and consults with radiologists. Maintains accurate records, enters data into systems, and documents billing codes. Assists with patient positioning and transport, following proper techniques. Provides age-appropriate care by understanding growth and development principles.
Qualifications & Skills: Requires a valid radiographer license, ARRT registration, and BLS certification (within 6 months). Completion of an accredited radiologic technology program is necessary. No prior experience required. Must possess excellent communication, interpersonal, and computer skills, along with competence in radiology positioning, radiation safety, and equipment operation. Ability to work independently is essential.
Physical & Safety Requirements: Ability to sit, stand, walk, lift up to 50 lbs., and perform physical tasks like pushing and pulling. Must wear PPE when exposed to hazards and maintain clear speech, vision, and hearing. Equipment operation and adherence to safety protocols are mandatory.
