Operating Room Nurse PRN

The Operating Room (OR) Registered Nurse provides expert, compassionate clinical care and coordination, focusing on patient safety, education, and collaboration with healthcare teams.

Key Responsibilities Include

• Preoperative preparation: verifying patient identity, surgical site, and informed consent, offering emotional support
• OR setup: arranging equipment and supplies for smooth workflows
• Patient safety: assisting with patient positioning and ensuring safety measures
• Documentation: accurately recording procedures, supplies, and critical events
• Communication: liaising between surgical teams and departments
• Specimen management: handling and transporting specimens properly
• Environmental monitoring: maintaining a sterile, safe environment
• Instrument counts: ensuring no instruments or supplies are retained in the patient
  
  

Depending on experience, additional duties include sterile field preparation, instrument management, aseptic techniques, and post-procedure cleanup.

Qualifications: Minimum one year OR nursing experience, current RN licensure, BLS certification, strong communication skills, with ACLS optional.
