Under supervision, performs Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI) procedures, operates MRI equipment, and ensures patient safety and image quality. Follows established protocols to deliver accurate diagnostic images in a safe environment, complying with healthcare and regulatory standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Interviews patients to assess MRI safety and explains procedures.
- Ensures patient identification, safety, and comfort during scans.
- Prepares, positions, and monitors patients for MRI procedures.
- Operates and adjusts MRI equipment, selecting appropriate settings.
- Maintains a clean, organized, and safe MRI environment.
- Performs equipment calibration, maintains supplies, and reports malfunctions.
- Evaluates image quality, documents findings, and ensures accurate records.
- Uses electronic medical records for documentation and data management.
- Performs additional MRI-related tasks as assigned.
- Current certification in MRI by ARRT or ARMRIT.
- Valid Basic Life Support (BLS) certification within 60 days of employment.
- Preferred: 2 years of MRI technologist experience and NYSDOH radiologic technologist license.
