- Review and update patient health records, verify diagnostic tests, hospital reports, and medical documentation.
- Measure vital signs such as pulse, respiration, blood pressure, weight, and height.
- Prepare treatment rooms for examinations and ensure readiness for patient visits.
- Provide excellent customer service by greeting patients and community members respectfully.
- Perform clerical duties including managing inventory, tracking referrals, and answering phones.
- Troubleshoot and resolve issues promptly, supporting smooth clinic operations.
- Other duties as assigned, ensuring compliance within Medical Assisting scope and state guidelines.
- High School Diploma or GED.
- Active Medical Assisting certification (e.g., CMA, RMA, CCMA, NRCMA, NCMA, NCCT) or Assessment-Based Recognition in Order Entry (not in South Carolina).
- BLS certification (preferred or required depending on location).
- One year of healthcare experience (preferred) and two years of clerical experience in a physician’s office (preferred).
- Problem-solving, basic computer, and strong communication skills.
- Professional interpersonal skills to engage effectively with staff and patients.
