This position markets the ADRC to the public through multiple media outlets and provides outreach to community organizations and agencies regarding ADRC and Aging programs and services.  Outreach efforts are directed toward organizations and service providers who support the ADRC target populations which include frail elderly, and individuals with physical and/or intellectual disabilities.  This position also supports and promotes the Mission, Vision and Guiding Principles of the Human Services Department and performs in a manner consistent with the "HSD Professional Standards" and "Commitment to My Co-Workers." 

50% - Provide Education and Outreach to community through marketing and outreach activities
  • Develop and implement with the ADRC Division Manager, a marketing/outreach plan to ensure Rock County service providers and citizens are aware of the ADRC.
  • Organize public events to educate the community of ADRC services. 
  • Identify potential marketing strategies for the ADRC including advertising and hosting programs/events to promote ADRC programs. 
  • Create and provide presentations for the general public and community organizations. 
  • Identify organizations and/or service providers who are unfamiliar with ADRC services and seek out opportunities to outreach and educate.  
  • Identify underrepresented populations who may be unfamiliar with ADRC services and seek out to provide outreach and education.
  • Represent the ADRC of Rock County to the community at large through professional interaction, public speaking, media presentations, and participation in community service events as requested.
  • Update and maintain all social media accounts regarding upcoming ADRC programs and services. 
  • Update and maintain ADRC website and HSD monitors. 
  • Organize, create and distribute the monthly newsletter in conjunction with the Aging Supervisor.  
  • Provide presentations to Rock County Advisory Committee's and Governing Boards.
35% - Support, educate and assist ADRC staff and office with marketing materials
  • Share upcoming marketing/outreach opportunities with staff and obtain support and/or assistance from division program experts.  
  • Provide education to staff and community regarding assistive technology utilizing the State provided AT kits and other resources.
  • Update lobby display cabinets with Adaptive Aid display's and/or other pertinent ADRC information.
  • Maintain ADRC resource room in cooperation with ADRC Administrative Professional and program staff experts.
  • Lead and assist in the development of ADRC event and program brochures, flyers, and media announcements.  
  • Coordinate the purchase of ADRC marketing materials for general presentations and program staff; such as swag, give-aways and tools.  
10% - Data collection
  • Track referrals to determine where marketing/outreach efforts need to target.
  • Complete required data entry timely in Peer Place database for all marketing/outreach activities.  
  • Efficiently and timely enter 100% time reporting of ADRC marketing/outreach activities.    
  • Responsible for resource data base updates and application process.   
  • Prepare correspondence, reports, and other records as required and requested.  
5% - Other duties as assigned
  • Knowledge of ADRC services and programs, including Aging and APS. 
  • Knowledge of the target populations; frail elderly, individuals with physical and/or developmental disabilities.
  • Knowledge of long-term care funding and programs, i.e.;  Family Care, IRIS, Medicaid, Social Security, AFCSP/NFCSP
  • Knowledge of community resources.  
  • Ability to communicate effectively orally and in writing.  
  • Ability to prepare and maintain necessary records and reports.
  • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with internal staff, service providers, the general public and related agencies.
  • Knowledge of creative methods to market ADRC and outreach to a variety of racial, economic and cultural backgrounds. 
  • Ability to plan and coordinate outreach activities independently.
  • Skill at developing and presenting information, specifically, comfortable with public speaking.
  • Ability to effectively market within budget constraints. 
  • Ability to proficiently use a computer including basic software programs (including Power Point and Canva) and related office equipment.
  • Two years post high school education. Bachelor's degree preferred or equivalent experience.
  • Experience working with frail elderly, physically disabled, or developmentally disabled individuals.
  • Experience giving presentations in small or large group settings.
  • Experience in developing marketing materials. 
  • Must Posses a Valid Driver's License 
  • Personal, insured vehicle-pursuant to Wisconsin law. 
  • Ability to work a flexible work schedule to accommodate appointments outside of "normal business hours."
Physical Elements
  • Ability to sit, walk, or stand for long periods of time.
  • Ability to reach files and/or manuals, sit at a desk. 
  • Ability to exert up to 10 pounds of force occasionally or negligible amount of force frequently to lift, carry, push, pull, or otherwise move objects.
Use of Equipment
  • Ability to use computer, general office equipment, cell phone.
Working Conditions
  • Work is both inside in an office setting and in the community.
