Individual annual salaries/hourly rates will be set within the job's compensation range, and will be determined by considering factors including, but not limited to, market data, education, experience, qualifications, expertise of the individual, and internal equity considerations. Responsibilities: Serve as administrative leader of the University of Rochester Medicine Firearm Injury Prevention Program (FIPP). Work collaboratively with the faculty leads of the program and the steering group to develop and advance strategic partnerships that support the mission of the program. Provide coordination, management and support for the program and related activities. Work directly with faculty leads, research and community partners to advance special projects. Collaborate across the medical center for overall program evaluation and effectiveness. Coordinate and manage ongoing and ad hoc special projects as assigned. Coordinate application process of identified grants, lead implementation. Carry out responsibilities with considerable latitude for independent judgment. Foster and enable a positive work environment by modeling the I CARE values. Support a culturally competent environment by treating patients/families, trainees, research subjects and co-workers in a sensitive and caring manner with appropriate attention to cultural differences. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS Direct the planning and implementation of the inter-departmental Firearm Injury Prevention Program to achieve, monitor and improve clinical services and meet project goals. This urban, suburban and regional program includes children, adults and older adults. Position requires flexibility and management of multiple projects at different stages. Duties include administrative and research coordination/support, grant administration, community engagement, data collection and dissemination and coordination across medical center departments and with community groups. Role will evolve as program grows/changes. Work directly with program co-leads and report to ….. Schedule, manage and lead various meetings, including weekly, extended and quarterly sessions for FIPP team; prepare agendas, track goals/tasks, take and disseminate notes and follow up on action items. Oversee all aspects of FIPP trainings; schedule and arrange CEUs, manage logistics, track training details and participant lists, administer pre and post surveys. Prepare reports or reporting tools that will assist faculty leads in maintaining requirements and quality improvement as set forth by project steering group or grant deliverables. Maintain a working knowledge of the area(s) of expertise by reviewing research literature and abstracts, attending pertinent meetings and webinars. Build relationships throughout the community. Represent the program in the community by attending local and regional coalition/committee meetings. May present information. Take notes, bring information back to leadership. Available for some night and weekend events throughout the year. Participate in available cultural competence events and trainings. Key support role for grant applications, grants management and research coordination. Comfortable managing participant-facing research activities. Enroll participants. Responsible for the completion of grant applications for the program. Work collaboratively with leaders to identify potential grants. Coordinate support from CCHP administrative team for assistance with grant writing, budgeting and related data needs. Manage the program budget / expenses, prepare expense reports. Maintain CLASP certification. Coordinate ad hoc special projects and other duties as assigned MINIMUM EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE Bachelor's degree and 5 years of relevant experience required Master's degree preferred Or equivalent combination of education and experience KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES Strong leadership and team management skills required Exceptional communication, negotiation, and relationship-building skills required Proficiency in program evaluation and data analysis required Advanced budget management and financial planning expertise preferred Functional expertise in database software, Computer Skills preferred. Good communication and interpersonal skills required. Self-directed and motivated with demonstratively strong organizational skills and ability to prioritize preferred. Background in public health, health promotion suicide prevention, violence prevention, trauma informed care or other related experience preferred.
