WORK SCHEDULE: 8 hours per day, split shift; 6:15 a.m. - 2:15 p.m. Monday - Friday

WORK CALENDAR: 178 duty days per year

CLASSIFICATION: B-2-3

SALARY RANGE: $24.45 - $25.61 per hour; based on experience

Job Summary:

• Direct and participate in meal preparation and daily meal service.
• Ensure correct portions are served by adhering to production records and standardized recipes.
• Assist with set up of serving lines.
• Complete daily production records for breakfast/lunch/snacks
• Ensure all Federal and State government regulations are adhered to.
• Ensure that students with special diet accomodations receive the correct meals.
• Train new staff members and monitor performance.
• Assist with maintenance and operation of all kitchen machines and equipment and operation of the Point of Sale (POS) terminals.
• Adhere to District’s HACCP (Hazard Analysis & Critical Control Points) plan.
• Wash, sanitize and store kitchen equipment and utensils according to USDA and local guidelines.
• Inspect deliveries for food/supplies received.
• Support and promote the meal programs offered at the site.
• Establish and maintain a pleasant environment for all staff and students.
• Perform all other duties within the level of responsibility of position as assigned by the supervisor.
• Position involves handling a number of food allergens and a variety of meat products.
• Calculate, enter and submit weekly order.

Qualifications:

• Experience in a public school kitchen and/or background in related food service operations.
• Knowledge of government guidelines and procedures concerning sanitation and safety.
• Excellent organizational, communication and interpersonal skills.
• Must have completed or be willing to enroll and complete the Sanitation and Safety and the School Nutrition Programs courses for Minnesota School Food Services Certification.
• Computer skills and experience or willing to learn.
• Regular, on-time attendance is required.
• Stooping, bending, occasional awkward positions may be necessary to perform essential functions of the position. Must be able to lift 31-50 lbs.
• MN Food Manager's Certificate required
• SNA Level 4 (preferred)
