Job Title: Elementary Classroom Assistant
Duration: School Year (10 months), Monday-Friday
Job Type: Full Time, Hourly (non-exempt)

Rochester Montessori School (RMS) is an independent Montessori day school established in 1968, serving 220 children ages 18 months through eighth grade. Our Middle School incorporates an International Baccalaureate Program (MYP). Job Summary
Elementary Classroom Assistants help support the lead teacher (Guide) who is trained in the Montessori method, and help with all aspects of classroom life.
Required Qualifications:
- High school diploma
- One year classroom experience
- Experience working with diverse students and families
- Passion for supporting children’s cognitive, emotional, social, and physical growth
- Strong verbal and communication skills
- Attentive and caring approach to working with children and their behavior
- Strong organizational skills
- Ability to take direction from lead
Preferred Qualifications:
- College coursework or degree in education
- Experience with/in Montessori education
Schedule:
The hours for this position are from 8:00-4:00, with some flexibility if taking on after school care position as well.
Pay: $19.00/hour
