Job Summary
RIT's Controller's Office is seeking a Payroll Systems & Process Lead with strong Workday and payroll/timekeeping operations experience. Job Responsibilities
BS in Accounting, Business Administration, Management Information Systems, or related business discipline
Five years of experience in Analyst/Business Analyst role supporting business technology platforms
OR Combination of education, certifications, and relevant experience with business technology platforms will be considered
Experience With Workday Financial Applications Or Other ERP System
Flexible computer skills including the suite of Microsoft Office products, and modern collaboration tools such as Slack, OneNote, and Google Docs
Candidates must be eligible to work in the United States.
Preferred Qualifications
This newly created position reflects a strategic reallocation of resources, repurposing an existing staff vacancy to support the University's move to Workday. This position reports through the Controller's Office Technology Management Department.

Job Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and deliver scalable solutions to support payroll and financial operations, including post-launch support and ongoing optimization.
- Configure and maintain Workday business processes, master data, and system settings to ensure smooth daily operations and adaptability to evolving business needs.
- Evaluate complex business problems and collaborate with functional experts to gather comprehensive process and system requirements.
- Analyze and document existing workflows and internal control requirements; recommend and implement process changes that enhance efficiency, expediency, and business value.
- Lead testing, migration, and deployment of new features, integrations, and reports, ensuring system performance and data accuracy through rigorous validation.
- Maintain accurate and comprehensive documentation of systems, procedures, and technical components to support transparency and continuity.
- Serve as project manager or business lead for large-scale implementation efforts, ensuring alignment with business objectives and successful end-user experiences.
- Plan, prioritize, and manage projects and enhancements on the roadmap, upholding data governance and security standards.
- Build strong cross-functional partnerships with university stakeholders and vendors to translate business needs into system requirements and identify opportunities for continuous improvement.
- Research and evaluate emerging technologies to support department-wide innovation and maintain technology implementation projects.
- Analyze large and complex data sets to support data-driven decision-making and strategic planning.
- Develop and support departmental metrics programs to monitor performance, identify opportunities, and escalate issues as needed.
- Participate in process flow documentation and benchmarking initiatives to identify and evaluate continuous improvement opportunities.
- Complete a minimum of 40 hours of role-relevant training or professional development annually to enhance functional and technical skills.

- MBA, MS in Project Management or technology-related discipline
- Workday Payroll and Time Tracking module experience including configuration, testing and rollout of statutory and new code requirements
- Experience with metrics, analytics or dashboards to drive a deeper understanding of payroll cycles and issues requiring escalation or outreach training
- Experience with analyzing complex datasets using tools such as Excel or other available reporting platforms to support decision-making, monitor trends, and optimize workflows
- Knowledge of Tableau, PowerBI, and/or other data visualization tools
- Experience with SQL, R, Python, VBA, and/or other programming languages, strongly preferred
- Lean Six Sigma certification
- Project Management certification
