Position Title: Audiologist
Reports to: Director of Audiology
Location: Rochester Hearing & Speech Center
Schedule: Full-Time
Status: Exempt / Salaried
Pay Range: $70k to $72k— annually (good-faith estimate in compliance with NYS Pay Transparency Law; final offer based on experience and credentials)
Job Summary
The Audiologist provides comprehensive diagnostic, treatment, and rehabilitative services to patients of all ages and developmental abilities. This role encompasses evaluation, hearing aid dispensing, auditory rehabilitation, and collaboration with healthcare and educational professionals to ensure patients achieve optimal hearing health and communication outcomes.
Primary Responsibilities
- Conduct comprehensive hearing evaluations for patients across the lifespan with a variety of complex ear conditions and hearing losses.
- Administer and interpret audiologic procedures, including tympanometry, acoustic reflexes, otoacoustic emissions (OAEs), pure tone and speech testing, conditioned play audiometry, visual reinforcement audiometry, speech-in-noise testing, central auditory processing evaluations, and cochlear implant evaluations
- Provide auditory rehabilitation services, including dispensing, fitting, and servicing of hearing aids, assistive listening devices, and other appropriate technology
- Initiate appropriate follow-up and referrals to healthcare and/or educational professionals
- Occasionally conduct testing off-site and participate in community outreach and hearing conservation events
- Prepare timely, accurate written reports of patient visits in accordance with agency guidelines and document in the EMR system
- Utilize and adapt to EMR and scheduling systems, maintaining proficiency with computers and related technology
- Work locations will be the Elmwood Avenue and Ridge Rd centers based on case load
Qualifications & Skills
- Master’s degree in Audiology required; Doctoral degree preferred
- Current New York State license to practice Audiology
- New York State license to dispense hearing aids required
- Certificate of Clinical Competence in Audiology (CCC-A) from the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association (ASHA) required
- Strong interpersonal, communication, and counseling skills
- Proficiency with computers and ability to learn new software systems
Work Environment
- Clinic-based role with occasional travel to schools, community events, and partner locations
- Collaborative work with interdisciplinary teams, patients, and families
Physical Requirements
- Prolonged periods of sitting, standing, or performing assessments
- Ability to lift up to 20 pounds (equipment and supplies)
