Maintenance Worker / Riverside Parking

General Description:  

Responsible for performing routine duties associated with the day-to-day activities of the operations/maintenance department. Duties include but not limited to manual labor, compliance with equipment handling guidelines, equipment storage, operating mechanical equipment, equipment inspections, general housekeeping and custodial duties. Position reports to the Assistant Parking Garage Manager.

Primary Responsibilities:

1. Works as scheduled in designated uniform and nametag.
2. Extensive walking throughout the facility and facility grounds w/ professional demeanor.
3. Cleaning composition floors, carpet, glass, stainless steel, painted surfaces, mirrors, quarry tile, concrete, and woodwork. Responsible for all public space, restrooms, elevators and Skyway Bridge.
4. Mopping, stripping, waxing, and sealing composition floors.
5. Vacuuming and shampooing/extracting carpets.
6. Policing and cleaning restroom areas and public areas.
7. Walking, standing, sitting, stooping, and lifting objects as required.
8. Implementation of basic cleaning methods as required in the maintenance of exterior grounds and interior areas.
9. Completion of tasks assigned in compliance with basic safety guidelines.
10. Sweeping, mopping, and removing dirt, water, and ice as required.
11. Performing grounds maintenance during inclement weather as required.
12. Completion of tasks and daily assignments as assigned in a cooperative manner.
13. Perform general manual labor associated with set-up, custodial, maintenance, or housekeeping functions.
14. Maintain public image of the Operations/Maintenance Department at all times while working.
15. Maintain an irregular work schedule as required by the Assistant Garage Manager for the servicing of scheduled events and routine assignments within the parking garage.
16. Such other duties, functions, special projects, and responsibilities as assigned by Management.

Requirements

Qualifications:

1. Up to one (1) year experience in a custodial/housekeeping position.
2. Ability to perform manual tasks requiring physical strength and perform reasonably heavy labor.
3. Ability to follow written and/or verbal instructions accurately.

Salary : $15 - $18
