Job Title: Manager of Development Operations

Position Summary: Assist in the oversight of the Universities annual fund development, leadership annual gifts, and major gifts. In coordination with the VP of Development plan, organize and participate in the fundraising process, cultivation of friends and donors, solicitation of major gifts, while implementing meaningful stewardship processes and procedures to meet and exceed our annual, endowment, and capital fundraising goals.
EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE REQUIRED::
Bachelor’s degree. Project manager experience.
Strong interpersonal and public speaking skills.
Proven ability to lead marketing and communication strategies from conception to completion.
Highly organized and efficient in planning and executing key fundraising projects and initiatives.
Ability to grasp fundraising strategies, implement best practice procedures throughout the FY, and multitask effectively.
Strong written and technical skills with ability to craft gift agreements and write proposals, as well as ability to navigate Raiser’s Edge for reporting, strategic research, and portfolio development.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Assist in establishing the fundraising plan, annual fund, capital campaigns, and overall direction of the development process by working closely with the VP for Development and the entire development team.
Provide direction and leadership as it relates to annual fund fundraising activities, signature fundraising special events, pipeline strategy, communication lead, branding, storytelling, and oversight of the budget.
Assist in developing partnerships, revamping sponsorships, and specific outreach while coordinating internal and external communications to secure grants from small businesses, corporations, and foundations in the community.
Assist the VP of Development in providing leadership and direction for the University in all fundraising efforts by supervising staff, implementing new stewardship strategies, and scheduling cultivation, solicitation, and stewardship meetings for the VP and president.
Build internal and external relationships and be initiative-taking with all fundraising operations including endowment and impact reporting, all written and online appeals, and all communication platforms.
Coordinate fundraising strategies with advisory boards, faculty and staff, volunteers, alumni, friends, and students.
