Yard Laborer

Job Description 

Summary/objective

The Yard Laborer is responsible for performing various tasks related to the operation and maintenance of the yard. 

Essential functions

• Sort and process materials, including but not limited to: ferrous, non ferrous, tires, and batteries
• Assist in maintaining accurate inventory records and tracking the movement of materials
• Maintain equipment and facilities, including basic maintenance tasks and cleaning
• Provide support to all departments as needed
• Ensure compliance with all local, state, and federal regulations regarding salvage yard operations
• Maintain a safe and clean work environment
• Perform other duties as assigned by management

• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and handle multiple tasks simultaneously
• Attention to detail and excellent organizational skills                        
• Ability to follow safety guidelines and regulations 
• Familiarity with local, state, and federal regulations regarding salvage yards
• Proficient in basic math and computer skills
• Ability to work as part of a team or independently

• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. independently
• Ability to work in all weather conditions

• High School Diploma or Equivalent
• Previous experience in a salvage yard or similar environment
