The Position Principle Roles & Responsibilities / Accountabilities Strategic planning ● Shape and influence strategy for complex evidence generation deliveries and cross-functional projects ● Lead and/or support evidence generation strategy/plan setting up as critical component of local integrated evidence plan for multiple portfolio and pipeline products across therapeutic areas ● Provide epidemiological inputs with solid understanding of strategic business context in the medical planning process across therapeutic areas Implementation ● Lead the RWD project/studies design, analyses and interpretation. ● Map / license RWD sources and build research collaborations to increase the availability of fit - for - purpose RWD. ● Implement the RWE plan and execute RWE projects timely in close collaboration with cross - functional partners. ● Identify and implement scientifically innovative RWE programs that can support to address business needs and overcome key challenges in drug development using RWD or enable to provide meaningful RWE in support of regulatory decision making (e.g. label changes, new indications), payer decision making and clinical practice. Communication ● Build strong partnerships and opportunities to collaborate and innovate with varying internal and external stakeholders in support of Roche products, programs, processes, systems, and/or compliance ● Communicate scientifically and develop/maintain KOL network in medical/clinical community to ensure appropriate academic consultation/support and address the varying evidence requirements of stakeholders ● Lead the development of new and innovative partnerships with external stakeholders across healthcare ecosystems to co - design and execute innovative study designs and implementation science that address pre identified evidence needs. Development ● Act as a coach, mentor or consult to provide technical expertise on the RWE/epidemiology basics and internal/external trainings. ● Serve as franchise / division level RWE lead to ensure a broad understanding of the value of RWE to the product value demonstration both locally and globally. ● Maintain process standards across the therapeutic areas according to Roche SOPs, China CDE requirements and GPP guidelines with regard to pharmacoepidemiology Qualification and Experience ● Education/Qualifications - Master degree or above in the epidemiology, biostatistics, public health or equivalent combination of education and experience - Minimum of 3 years of professional experience in designing, implementation and report of epidemiology/observational studies - Working experiences as real world data scientist/epidemiologist in multinational pharmaceutical company or Clinical Research Organization, experience in oncology studies will be plus ● Leadership Competencies Ability to work effectively in a matrix team ● Job Required Competencies - Expert knowledge of epidemiology/observational methodologies and applications - Previous experience as a key RWD scientist or lead epidemiologist - Good knowledge of statistical programming skill (including SAS programming) - Strong communication skills and ability to work both, independently and collaboratively, as required - Demonstrated project management skills is strongly preferred - Business acumen - Be able to handle technical discussion in fluent English Who we are A healthier future drives us to innovate.
