Salary Information: $21.00-31.00 per hour based on academic qualifications

POSITION SUMMARY
The Substitute Teacher - Elementary School is responsible for the education and supervision of students across all primary subjects in their class(es). It is the role of the Substitute Teacher to be sure that all students are safe, secure, and properly supervised at all times, ensuring the daily academic program is followed effectively. This position requires demonstrating the competencies and behaviors needed to deliver general, all-subject instruction and to support the core values, vision, and mission of Rochambeau.

Assume the duties and responsibilities of the regularly assigned teacher, delivering comprehensive instruction for the duration of the assignment
Implement established classroom routines, discipline procedures, and health and safety protocols effectively
Manage the classroom environment to foster student participation, interest, and engagement in the learning process
Adapt to flexible assignments in several different grades and/or subjects within the elementary division
Collaborate effectively with grade-level teams and support staff
Possess dynamism and an unceasing energy for new challenges, demonstrating a strong sense of teamwork
Perform additional duties consistent with the scope and intent of the position, as assigned
QUALIFICATIONS
Minimum Requirements:
Possess a bachelor's degree, preferably in a relevant field
1 years of teaching experience
Native French OR English language proficiency, with excellent speaking and writing skills
Demonstrate strong foundational knowledge across the primary curriculum subjects
Demonstrate a strong sense of teamwork and the ability to adapt to any situation
Reliable attendance at work and flexible availability for assignments
Demonstrate a commitment to Rochambeau's vision, mission, values, and strategic aims

Preferred Requirements:
Bilingual French-English language proficiency
Elementary teaching experience and/or Teacher Certification
PHYSICAL DEMANDS
This position primarily operates in a school environment. The role requires prolonged periods of sitting, bending, walking, and standing, extensive use of computers and other office equipment, and occasional lifting or moving of equipment up to 25 pounds.
