Primary Accountabilities
- Network Monitoring & Problem Resolution - Diagnose and resolve network-related issues escalated from the helpdesk or IT leadership. Monitor WAN/LAN, VPN, and wireless performance, troubleshoot connectivity issues, and coordinate with vendors or consultants as needed to maintain uptime.
- System & Infrastructure Maintenance - Perform regular health checks on servers, firewalls, routers, Switches, and wireless access points. Apply patches, firmware updates, and security configurations to ensure Systems remain stable, secure and aligned with compliance standards.
- Collaboration & Coordination - Work closely with the Director of IT, IT consultants, and the helpdesk technicians to assess issues, plan upgrades, and implement solutions that align with business priorities and project timelines.
- Documentation & Administration - Maintain accurate network documentation, update diagrams and inventory, and prepare reports on network performance, incidents, and improvements. Complete related administrative tasks as required.
- Minimum of 3 years of hands-on experience as a Network Administrator, Network Engineer, or in a closely related IT infrastructure role.
- Network certification or three (3) years experience working in a networked environment.
- Successful completion of MSCE or MCITP Administration and Advanced Administration / Network classes. Certification may be waived with three (3) or more years of Microsoft Server 2008 Active Directory / Exchange 2010 administration experience.
- Knowledgeable in server backup procedures
- Knowledge of SonicWall Firewall equipment
- Knowledge of Email Spam/Virus Firewall devices
- Proficient in the use of Microsoft products
