Social Media Coordinator

Marketing • San Diego, CA or Remote • Part-Time

About Robolink:

Robolink is one of Inc 5000’s fastest-growing private companies for 2025 with products trusted in 7,000 US schools. Our flagship product, CoDrone EDU, is a career-launching, classroom-ready drone that students in grades 5 and up can program with Blockly and Python. We have a tight-knit team, we’re profitable, and we’re committed to growing and learning every day. If you’re excited about joining a fast-growing startup and working toward a mission you can be proud of, then Robolink may be a good fit for you. Current/former educators are strongly encouraged to apply!

We work out of headquarters in San Diego and with team members around the world, and we're passionate about building a company as diverse as our community of teachers and students.

About the Role:

The Social Media Coordinator will:

  1. Create short-form videos for Robolink activities,
  2. Maintain and execute Robolink’s existing social strategy,
  3. Continue and increase community engagement,
  4. Monitor and report on social media growth, and
  5. Experiment with new social tactics, content, and channels.

You’ll also get a desk-friendly drone to play with and program!

You will report to educator-turned-Community Manager (and ‘unofficial hype girl of all the things’) Frankie Baker – along with our highly engaged community of teachers and education leaders. If based in San Diego, you will also get to work alongside our talented Media Producer and shoot in our in-office studio. When it comes to experiments, we’ll all recognize that the “big misses” are just as valuable as the “big wins” for helping us learn, grow, and build the biggest drone brand in EdTech.

Compensation (Hourly) — Location-Based Pay Tiers:

We use a 3-tier geographic compensation model to ensure fairness and competitiveness across the U.S. as well as take into consideration skills and experience.

  • Tier 1 — Primary Metros (San Diego, San Francisco Bay Area, New York City, Los Angeles, Seattle, Boston, Washington D.C.)

$25–$30 per hour

  • Tier 2 — Secondary Metros (Austin, Denver, Chicago, Dallas, Atlanta, Minneapolis, Phoenix, Portland, etc.)

$20–$26 per hour

  • Tier 3 — Distributed / Rural Areas (Smaller cities, suburban markets, rural regions)

Please note: we conduct research to ensure compensation is aligned with the experience level of the role, cost of living, and job market. If you proceed in the interview process and have any questions, you can discuss with the Hiring Manager.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Create compelling content that highlights Robolink’s CoDrone EDU, emphasizing its unique educational and technological features, including short-form video, GIFs, and imagery. Collaborate on content ideas between teams, then plan, produce, edit, and publish across channels.
  • Distribute content on Robolink’s core social channels (LinkedIn, Facebook, Instagram, and X).
  • For the Robolink YouTube channel, distribute YouTube shorts, respond to comments, and create Thumbnails.
  • Engage with the community on YouTube as well as other pages for stronger brand to brand connections.
  • Actively engage with Robolink’s social media followers to foster community, support customer success, and amplify brand presence.
  • Prepare Monthly Social Media Reports (follower counts, top engaged posts, etc.).

About You:

Here are some of the key attributes and behaviors we’re looking for:

  • You go ape for aesthetics - You’re detail oriented and committed to building on a brand’s look/feel by adapting to the trends and happenings on different social channels.
  • You move fast - You believe great ideas are worth executing right away, even if that means having some candid conversations with the team to push new priorities through.
  • You care about kids - You’re excited about a company and mission you can be proud of, where students get access to skills to help their futures take flight.

Requirements:

  • ~1 year of experience in social media, content creation, and/or community (Note: this does not need to be your primary work, e.g. if you work in education but are active on social, you could be a perfect fit for this role!).
  • Portfolio of content that shows you can think outside the box (professional or personal)
  • Excellent design skills (especially with Canva, Figma).
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Nice-to-Haves :

  • Current or former educator.
  • Comfortable with being and speaking on screen.
  • Based in San Diego, CA (where we have a full studio for shooting social content).
  • If not in San Diego, you have access to video, audio, and lighting gear.
  • Proficiency with Buffer, Sprout Social and/or related martech platforms.
  • Some experience editing on a desktop or laptop in addition to mobile editing (with Adobe Premiere, Final Cut, or Capcut).

Benefits Available to Part-Time Employees:

  • Paid time off policies to include vacation, sick and holidays.
  • 401K Retirement Plan.
