Overview
We are seeking a professional and reliable Truck Driver to join our transportation team. The ideal candidate will possess strong driving skills, experience operating various types of trucks, and a commitment to safety and timely deliveries. This role involves transporting freight across designated routes, ensuring proper load handling, and maintaining compliance with all safety regulations. Candidates with experience in commercial driving, route driving, and operating specialized trucks such as refrigerated trailers, flatbeds, tankers, or dump trucks are highly preferred. A valid commercial driver's license (CDL) and familiarity with manual transmissions are essential for this position.
Duties
- Safely operate tractor-trailers and other commercial trucks including refrigerated trailers, flatbeds, tankers, dump trucks, and roll-off trucks.
- Load and unload freight efficiently while adhering to safety protocols.
- Conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections to ensure vehicle safety and compliance with DOT regulations.
- Drive assigned routes accurately and on schedule, managing delivery timelines effectively.
- Handle various types of freight including refrigerated goods, heavy loads on flatbeds, or bulk liquids in tankers.
- Maintain accurate delivery documentation and logs for each trip.
- Perform routine maintenance checks on vehicles and report any issues promptly.
- Follow all traffic laws, safety procedures, and company policies during operations.
- Assist with forklift operation when necessary for loading or unloading cargo.
Experience
- Proven experience as a truck driver with a focus on freight delivery; prior experience with route driving preferred.
- Experience operating manual transmission trucks is required.
- Familiarity with operating specialized trucks such as refrigerated trailers, flatbeds, tankers, dump trucks, or roll-off trucks is a plus.
- Demonstrated ability to load & unload freight safely using appropriate equipment like forklifts if applicable.
- Delivery driver experience involving freight handling across diverse routes is highly desirable.
- Valid commercial driver's license (CDL) with appropriate endorsements based on truck type (e.g., tanker endorsement).
- Knowledge of DOT regulations and safety standards related to commercial trucking.
