Duties
- Assist carpenters with measuring, cutting, and assembling wood and other construction materials using hand tools and power tools for woodworking.
- Support framing, drywall installation, trim carpentry, siding, and door hanging tasks according to construction plans and schematics.
- Prepare job sites by unloading materials, cleaning work areas, and setting up scaffolding or ladders safely.
- Operate woodworking machines and power tools while adhering to safety protocols for power tool safety.
- Help with heavy lifting of construction materials such as wood, metal studs, rebar, or concrete forms; assist in material fabrication and assembly.
- Interpret technical drawings and blueprints to assist in accurate installation of fixtures, cabinetry, or other components.
- Support restoration projects including water damage remediation, stucco application, plastering, or mold remediation as needed.
Requirements
- Prior construction site experience or hands-on work in residential carpentry is preferred but not mandatory; eagerness to learn is essential.
- Ability to read basic blueprints, schematics, or construction plans; familiarity with interpreting technical drawings is a plus.
- Proficiency with hand tools such as hammers, screwdrivers, chisels, and measuring tapes; experience with power tools for woodworking including saws and drills is highly desirable.
- Physical ability to perform heavy lifting and work at heights; comfortable working outdoors in varying weather conditions.
- Knowledge of construction safety standards including power tool safety practices.
- Basic understanding of building materials like wood construction materials, siding, flooring installation, tile laying, or electrical experience is advantageous.
- Strong teamwork skills with excellent communication; ability to follow instructions accurately on a fast-paced site.
- Your own transportation to and from job site preferably a truck and ability to transport materials as needed.
