Fiscal Manager
The Fiscal Manager will oversee the overall operations of the whole Fiscal Department that includes but not limited to accounting, budgeting, financial management, grant management, procurement and audits etc. The Fiscal Manager implements financial internal controls utilizing any Tribal and Federal codes and regulations for ensuring finance controls are up to date. The manager will maintain a day to day accounting system utilizing the Tribe's Finance Policies and Procedures. The Manager will assure all accounting functions are complying will all applicable Federal, State and local laws and regulations.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Formulates, implements, and updates various accounting procedures, systems and manuals.
- Formulates implements, and updates various procurement procedures, systems and manuals
- Enters carious accounting module batch files into the General Ledger.
- Analyzes the general ledger accounts and prepares adjusting entries as required.
- Reconciles all bank accounts
- Prepares financial statements for presentation to the Tribal employee earnings record.
- Responsible for completing all Federal, State and local grant reports/finance reports
- Review all existing Accounting and Procurement manuals and revises them as neccesary.
- Maintenance of all records and documents to support all financial matters.
- Deposits all such receipts in a timely manner.
- Oversee and supervise the acquisition of supplies and equipment.
- Responsible for replies to all correspondence pertaining to financial matters
- Resolves any audit deficiencies from prior and current audits.
- To be available to attend various meetings concerning the financial status of the Tribe.
- Responsible for taking care of all the Tribes' assets and properties regarding its maintenance and safekeeping.
- Manage and report all aspects of financial reporting including but not limited to Federal, State, Local and Tribal agencies.
- Close out yearend reports.
- Recommend budgets for the following years for the Tribal Administration and Tribal Governance Programming and Services
- Work with Department Directors
- Managers to establish the final budget for their deparments.
- These duties are not limited to the above, other duties may be assigned as directed
- Office and field environment; exposure to noise, dust, (potential hazardous materials & substances may require appropriate safety precautions)
- Will be subjected to indecent weather conditions
- Some lifting, stooping and climbing; working with the public will be required
- Considerable physical activity. Requires heavy physical work; heavy lifting, pushing or pulling required of objects up to 50 pounds. Physical work is a primary part of the job.

- Supervising up tp five staff
- Evaluations and recomending disciplinary actions
- Knowledge and recommending disciplinary actions
- Knowledge of OMB Regulations and CFR's
- Knowledge of Federal Government Departments
- Communicate Effectively in both verbal and written forms
- Managing Multi million dollar budgets
- Knowledge of accounting principles
- Knowledge of Sage, excel and other finance software
Experience and Education
- High School or GED required
- Bachelors Degree in accounting or finance with at least five years as a supervisor of an accounting dept
- CPA required
Pay: $30.00 - $38.00 per hour
