Local Tool and Equipment Dept. Assistant - Perryville
The Tool & Equipment Dept. Assistant will primarily support the efforts of Maintenance personnel, organizing and distributing tools, as well as maintaining shop, yard, and equipment in Perryville, MO.
ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBLITIES:
- Assist the Tool and Equipment Department personnel
- Clean and organize the shop, warehouse, and storage yard
- Clean trucks, trailers, and equipment
- Unload, inspect, verify, and store incoming deliveries
- Pull tools and supplies for jobsites
- Load trucks and trailers for new projects
- Unload trucks and trailers at end of projects
- Restock tools and supplies into the inventory
- Make deliveries with company vehicle
- Assist with loading and securing equipment for transport
- Assist mechanics as requested
- Assist on construction sites as requested
- Assist with building and grounds maintenance as requested
EDUCATION / EXPERIENCE:
- High school diploma or GED required
- Previous maintenance or handyman experience preferred
KNOWLEDGE / SKILLS / ABILITIES:
- Energetic, self-starter and willing to learn
- Ability to operate a motor vehicle and a forklift
- Strength, stamina, and mobility to perform physical work
- Ability to complete paper and digital forms and reports
- Must be able to effectively read and interpret information
- Ability to work successfully as a team and independently with moderate supervision
- Must possess valid driver’s license
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
- Be able to lift, carry, push, and pull materials and objects weighing up to 50 pounds for long periods of time
- Coordinate eye-hand movements with control and precision
- Use hands and fingers fully; reach for, manipulate, and feel objects; stoop, kneel, crouch, and/or crawl
- Climb and maintain body balance on ladders and see and hear well (either naturally or with correction)
- Stoop, lay, bend or squat for long periods of time
WORKING CONDITIONS:
- May be exposed to fumes, dust or other airborne particles
- May be exposed to loud noises
- May be exposed to extreme outside conditions that include inclement weather, heat and humidity
