The Mechanical – Electrical – Plumbing (MEP) Manager provides exceptional leadership in the areas of Mechanical, Electrical & Plumbing on assigned projects. The MEP Manager contributes to quality service and teamwork during the preconstruction, construction and closeout phases.

The Mechanical – Electrical – Plumbing (MEP) Manager provides exceptional leadership in the areas of Mechanical, Electrical & Plumbing on assigned projects. The MEP Manager contributes to quality service and teamwork during the preconstruction, construction and closeout phases.
Your Day-to-day

- Review documents for constructability.
- Identify long lead time items & advise on purchase requirements.
- Participate in meetings with local officials during permitting phase.
- Provide input on project schedules.
- Review trade partner schedules of value.
- Manage RFI’s & documents for all MEP related scopes.
- Manage submittal process for all MEP related scopes.
- Review monthly payment requisitions for progress & advise on cost to complete.
- Attend monthly cost meetings by project team.
- Review & comment on trade partner change requests.
- Review & comment on trade partner submittals & shop drawings.
- Facilitate start-up process for all MEP systems & Controls systems.
- Evaluate MEP as-built drawings & O&M Manuals.
- Review Building Management & Controls documents for constructability & coordination with other systems.
- Collaborate with facility managers & user groups to understand their specific needs.
- Review schematic & design development drawings for feasibility & program with end users.
- Assist MEP Superintendent to verify conditions in existing buildings to ensure constructability.
- Hold MEP trade partner kickoff meetings.
- Manage MEP coordination drawing process; hold coordination meetings with trade partners.
- Attend weekly project meetings with owner.
- Attend programming meetings; identify MEP constraints & requirements.
- Coordinate with Sustainability Coordinator & perform LEED analysis relating to MEP systems; draft LEED IAQ Management Plans.
- Identify MEP deficiencies & report to project team for inclusion on Deficiency Log; review with trade partners at weekly meetings.
- If equipment is being procured early by R&M or Owner, lead that process. This will include, but is not limited to, requests for proposal, scope review & award, submittal review & scheduling.
- Lead team & assist commissioning agent during commissioning phase.
- Lead team in developing closeout schedule relating to MEP work; include permitting & inspection requirements & commissioning.
- Preferably, a degree in Building Science, Construction Management, Mechanical or Electrical Engineering. Education can be substituted with experience.
- Must have a minimum of five years related construction experience with an MEP engineering firm or a Mechanical or Electrical Specialty Subcontracting firm, and specific healthcare construction experience. He/she must also have experience in Low Voltage & Building Control Systems.
- Strong understanding of MEP systems for function & coordination between scopes of work.
- Experience in MEP scheduling.
- OSHA 10 Hour &, preferably, OSHA 30 Hour certifications. If not current, must receive within first year of employment & keep current.
