Robeson Community College seeks a strategic, collaborative, and student-centered leader to serve as Vice President for Instruction / Chief Academic Officer (CAO). Reporting directly to the President, the CAO provides visionary leadership for academic programs and instructional services, advancing excellence in teaching, learning, student success, and workforce alignment.
The CAO serves on the Executive Leadership Team and oversees academic deans, institutional planning and research, accreditation, program development, and institutional effectiveness initiatives. This role fosters partnerships with K-12, higher education, business, and industry while supporting innovation in university transfer, health sciences, career and technical education, and distance learning.
Key Responsibilities Include:
- Leading academic planning, assessment, and continuous program improvement
- Supporting accreditation and regulatory compliance
- Developing articulation agreements and educational partnerships
- Managing Academic Affairs budgets and strategic initiatives
- Recruiting, developing, and supporting faculty and academic staff
- Advancing enrollment, retention, and student completion efforts
Minimum Qualifications:
- Master’s degree from an accredited institution in education or a related field; doctorate preferred
- Minimum of five (5) years of progressively responsible leadership experience in academic administration
- Demonstrated leadership in accreditation, institutional effectiveness, and student-centered innovation
- Strong communication, collaboration, and organizational leadership skills
This is an on-site executive leadership position requiring active engagement in campus and community activities, including occasional evenings, weekends, and travel.
