Job Summary
Robertsons Ready Mix is seeking a skilled and dependable Diesel Mechanic to join our maintenance team in El Cajon, California. The ideal candidate will have at least 2 years of experience performing diagnostics, repairs, and preventative maintenance on semi-trucks, cement mixers, or other heavy-duty diesel equipment. This position is critical to ensuring our fleet remains safe, reliable, and operational.
Responsibilities
- Diagnose and repair mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems on diesel-powered vehicles.
- Perform preventative maintenance and routine inspections on semi-trucks and ready-mix cement mixer trucks.
- Troubleshoot engine, transmission, brake, suspension, and driveline issues.
- Conduct DOT inspections and ensure vehicles meet safety standards.
- Replace and repair defective parts, components, and systems.
- Maintain accurate service and repair records.
- Work closely with fleet management to prioritize repairs and minimize downtime.
- Follow all company safety policies and procedures.
Required Qualifications
- Minimum 2 years of diesel mechanic experience working on semi-trucks, cement mixers, or heavy-duty equipment.
- Strong knowledge of diesel engines and truck maintenance.
- Ability to diagnose and troubleshoot mechanical issues efficiently.
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and work in a maintenance shop environment.
Preferred
- CDL (Commercial Driver's License).
- ASE Certifications or equivalent training.
- Experience with fleet maintenance software.
- Welding or fabrication experience.

Schedule
- Full-time
- 5:00 a.m. shift
- Monday–Friday (with occasional overtime as needed, including Saturdays)
