Position Summary:
The Loan Processor is responsible for reviewing loan applications and associated documentation to ensure compliance with regulatory guidelines and internal policies. With a focus on accuracy and efficiency, the role involves validating borrower information, calculating financial ratios, and maintaining regular communication with stakeholders. Utilizing tools like Smartsheet, the Loan Processor ensures accurate reporting and timely document submission, facilitating smooth loan transactions. Proactive problem-solving skills and a commitment to exceptional service are essential for success in this pivotal role within the mortgage lending process.
This position is 100% in-office/on-site.
Performance Objectives:
- Review loan application packages and accompanying documents to ensure completeness, accuracy and compliance.
- Confirm that loan applications adhere to guidelines before submission to the lender.
- Validate supporting income, assets, rental history, employment history, and liability documentation to authenticate borrower information.
- Determine appropriate lenders based on borrower profiles.
- Calculate Debt-to-Income (DTI), Ability to Repay (ATR), and other ratios, ensuring accurate data input before submitting loan applications.
- Oversee the funding process to ensure timely and successful completion of loan transactions.
- Request necessary verifications as per lender requirements.
- Maintain regular communication with Home Center Manager and Home Consultants to gather and update documents promptly.
- Maintain continuous communication with stakeholders, streamline loan processing using Mortgage Automator, and ensure loans close within 14 days.
- Ensure daily updates of the Smartsheet UDW Pipeline for accurate metrics.
- Maintain and update Smartsheet reports and dashboards.
- Coordinate loan closing document schedules with the sales team.
- Complete special projects as needed

Education & Experience:
- A high school diploma or equivalent; a bachelor's degree in finance, business administration, economics, or a related field is preferred.
- Prior experience in mortgage lending, loan processing, or banking is highly desirable, with a preference for candidates experienced in financial analysis, customer service, or administrative roles.
- Certifications such as Certified Mortgage Banker (CMB) or Certified Mortgage Professional (NAMP-CMP) are beneficial, enhancing credibility and career progression.
Physical Requirements:
- Constantly sit, talk, or hear; Frequently use hands.
- Manual dexterity for handling paperwork and using office equipment.
- Clear vision and hearing for reviewing documents and communicating effectively.
- Capability to lift up to 10 pounds.
