What are the responsibilities and job description for the Associate Attorney position at Roberts, Matejczyk & Ita Co., LPA?
Roberts, Matejczyk & Ita Co., LPA (“RMI”), an established AV-rated firm, seeks an Attorney with 2 or more years’ civil litigation experience, who is interested in long-term career development. The ideal candidate will have experience handling cases from the prelitigation phase through trial. Experience with all phases of discovery, expert retention, motion practice, negotiations, and courtroom practice is recommended. A working knowledge of insurance coverage is a plus.
RMI’s practice does not generally require billable hours but instead focuses on recoveries for our clients and exceptional work. This position will primarily handle property files, which may require travel to loss scenes, coordinating experts, understanding the origin and cause of a loss, and communicating findings to our clients.
Qualifications:
The qualifications for the position include:
- Licensed and in good standing to practice law in the State of Ohio ( an Indiana or Kentucky license or ability to waive into Indiana or Kentucky also highly preferred)
- Identifying potential theories of liability
- Drafting related correspondence and/or litigation documents/pleadings/motions
- Handling court conferences, depositions, and trials
- Providing client reporting and recovery analysis
- Communicating with clients, opposing counsel, experts, and courts
- Understanding insurance coverages is very helpful
- Understanding recoverable damages and current law

Work Location: In person. RMI may consider remote work for right candidate who is already licensed in Ohio and Indiana and/or Kentucky and has significant litigation experience in the property subrogation field.
