What You’ll Do
As the Assistant Food Service Manager, you’ll work closely with the Food Service Manager to oversee all aspects of the school’s food service program, including:
- Supervising and supporting food service staff.
- Ensuring high standards for food preparation, safety, and sanitation.
- Assisting with menu planning and accommodating students with special nutrition needs.
- Managing inventory, supplies, and vendor deliveries.
- Supporting budget management and program compliance.
- Serving as a leader who ensures quality meals are delivered on time every day.
What We’re Looking For
- High School Diploma or GED required; Associate’s degree in a related field preferred.
- Minimum of 3 years’ experience in nutrition or food service.
- Culinary arts training or certification a plus.
- Safe Serve Certification required.
- Strong leadership, organization, and communication skills.
- Bilingual (English/Spanish) preferred but not required
- Ability to work Monday – Friday, 7:00 AM – 3:30 PM, with occasional additional hours as needed.
Physical & Work Environment
This role requires standing and walking for extended periods, lifting up to 30 pounds, and working in a school kitchen environment. Safety gear will be provided.
