Associate Marriage & Family Therapist — Private Practice Track
Job Summary
We are seeking an Associate Marriage & Family Therapist who wants to develop into a highly skilled psychotherapist and eventually build a successful private practice.
This position is designed for an associate who is serious about long-term clinical growth. In addition to providing psychotherapy, you will receive supervision focused on developing strong clinical judgment, deepening your therapeutic skills, building confidence as a clinician, and learning how to establish and grow an independent psychotherapy practice.
This is not a high-volume agency position. The goal is to help you develop the clinical and professional skills needed to become an effective, thoughtful, and independent therapist.
Responsibilities
- Provide psychotherapy to individuals, couples, and families.
- Conduct intake assessments and develop treatment plans.
- Maintain timely and accurate clinical documentation.
- Participate actively in individual and group supervision.
- Develop clinical judgment, case conceptualization, and therapeutic presence.
- Build and maintain a consistent caseload.
- Provide in-person and telehealth sessions.
- Follow all legal, ethical, and professional standards.

Qualifications
- Master’s degree in Marriage and Family Therapy or a related mental health field.
- Registered as an AMFT in California.
- A clear interest in eventually owning and operating a private psychotherapy practice.
- Strong interpersonal, communication, and organizational skills.
- Openness to feedback, supervision, and ongoing professional development.
- Ability to work independently while remaining engaged in consultation and supervision.
- Commitment to providing thoughtful, ethical, and client-centered psychotherapy.
