ROBERT-JAMES SALES, INC. is a growing distributor of stainless-steel pipe, fittings and valves. Headquartered in Buffalo, NY with 14 additional locations across the country.
Accounting Clerk: Cheektowaga stainless steel distributor seeks Accounting Clerk with experience. Duties include Accounts Receivable, Accounts Payable, Sales Tax and miscellaneous administrative functions. RJS reserves the rights to modify/change job duties at any time.
Job Duties:
· Accounts Receivable
o Code checks, record payments, work with customers & branch to resolve any discrepancies, approve orders and process credit card payments.
o Make collection calls and following up on receivables
o Daily reports and reconciliation.
o Close month end (including working late one day a month)
· Sales Tax
- Research tax requirements for multiple states
- Verify tax exemption certificates
· Cross-train in account payables department.
o Code & post invoices expense reports and vendor invoices
o Responsible for printing and mailing all checks
o Close A/P after month end.
· Providing general office duties support when required, including maintaining check stock supply, filing and document storage
· Communicate with other team members in the accounting department.
· Help Controller, Human Resources and Asst. Controller when needed.
Required Skills & Qualifications
· 1-year experience in AP/AR (required)
· Associates or Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting
· Sales Tax Experience (helpful)
· Experience with Microsoft Office (Excel and Word)
· Strong written and verbal communication skills
· Strong willingness to work as a team and independently
· Reliable transportation

Pay: $23.00–$27.00/hour (depending on experience)

Schedule: Full-time, In Office, Monday–Friday, 8:00 AM–5:00 PM
