What are the responsibilities and job description for the VP, Commercial Loan Officer position at Robert Half?
We’re seeking an experienced Vice President, Commercial Loan Officer to manage and grow a dynamic commercial business portfolio. You will be responsible for developing new lending opportunities, maintaining strong business relationships, and delivering financial solutions that help our members and local businesses thrive. This position is based in Lowell, MA and reports to the Vice President of Commercial Lending & Business Services.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and retain commercial lending and deposit relationships with business members
- Generate, underwrite, and manage a robust pipeline of commercial loans, ensuring regulatory compliance and adherence to internal policies
- Assess loan applications by analyzing tax, financial, and credit information; evaluate risks, cash flow, collateral, and profitability
- Conduct annual reviews and site visits to verify compliance and ensure the health of the loan portfolio
- Resolve delinquencies and address member issues with empathy, patience, and professionalism
- Identify cross-selling opportunities and support broader department growth strategies
What We’re Looking For:
- 7–10 years of commercial lending experience
- Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field, or equivalent combination of education and experience
- Advanced negotiation and conflict resolution skills; ability to engage and deescalate challenging situations
- Must be able to explain your current portfolio & business strategies for new clients
